Clean Up

The cleanup feature is used to remove pending (temporary) reservations from your web site. A pending reservation is one where RezEasy is waiting for the payment gateway to callback with the transaction status.

This feature is only applicable if the payment gateway you are using supports callback and it is enabled in RezEasy's configuration.

What is a Pending Reservation?

When a reservation is submitted, and callback is enabled, RezEasy records the reservation details but does not process the reservation immediately. Instead RezEasy will wait for the payment gateway to call back with the status of the transaction. When this callback is received RezEasy will do one of two things depending on the transaction status:

Transaction is accepted: RezEasy processes the reservation.
Transaction is declined: RezEasy takes no action.

Note: When a transaction is either accepted or declined it is no longer pending and is removed from the pending (temporary) reservations list.

This process relies on the payment gateway notifying RezEasy of the transaction status. If a guest abandons the transaction without submitting any credit card details RezEasy will not receive a callback and the reservation will remain pending. You can remove these pending reservations (or process them) using the cleanup facility.
